Simplicity

The idea is simple. Every time a file is created or saved, the same file is updated in both systems.

Using MFS is simple. One simple mount command does it. And one umount command stops the replication.

The transport protocols, NFS and CIFS, are proven standards and are supported by most OSs.

There is no need to invent another wheel. The choice of MFS is easy and simple.
